3 Ways to Make Your WordPress Website Irresistible

Your WordPress website can be a powerful tool for marketing your business online. It can help you share your big message and attract the people that most need what you have to offer and that you most love to work with. WordPress is a wonderful platform for creating a website that reflects your uniqueness and expertise.

Too many businesses, however, just throw up a site without giving much thought to what will really work. If you want to actually get your desired results from your website, there are a few things that you need to take into consideration when setting up your WordPress website.
Here are three things you can do to make your website irresistible so that it portrays you as the expert in your field and attracts your ideal customers.

1. Gorgeous & professional design that makes your heart sing

If you don’t love how your website looks, people are going to pick up on that. You need a design that makes your heart sing and portrays you as the amazing, irresistible expert that you are.
Your design needs to be professional, while also being a reflection of your own unique personality, talents and gifts. This is the first image of you and your business that potential customers will see, so it needs to be top notch and an accurate representation of who you are and what you’re all about.
I recommend hiring someone to help you with this step. Even if you are one of those people who are pretty good at figuring things out for yourself. When it comes to the look and feel for your website and brand, you are probably too close to your business to be able to get a clear picture of what you need. Hiring a professional designer will bring an outside perspective to the project. Your designer will be able to see you and your business from the outside, as a potential customer would, and they’ll have new ideas that you wouldn’t think of on your own.
When hiring a designer, ask lots of questions and find someone who is knowledgeable about online marketing and who knows what will be needed for your business to be successful online.

2. List builder with a free taste of what you have to offer

One of the most important things that your website needs to be doing for you is building an email list of people who are interested in and need what you have to offer.
Seriously, this is hands-down THE ONE thing that your website needs to be focused on. You need to be turning those website visitors into subscribers, otherwise they will likely leave and never come back.
Remember, most people need to come in contact with you on average SEVEN TIMES before they will buy from you online. If you don’t have any way to follow up with them, they’ll never have a chance to get to know, like and trust you. And they’ll never buy from you. That’s a major missed opportunity to not just make a sale, but to help someone who genuinely needs what you have to offer!
So start building that email list!
The biggest mistake I see entrepreneurs making with this step, is that they put up a nice little form on their website and say something like, “Join my Newsletter”. I don’t know about you, but I have no interest in subscribing to another “newsletter”. It’s dull and uninteresting, and doesn’t relate to what I came to your website for in the first place!
So here’s how to do it in a way that is irresistible and will have people scrambling to give your their email address. You need to give them something of VALUE in exchange for their contact information.
This is your free gift (also known as an optin offer, pink spoon, and various other names) and it should be directly related to what you offer. It could be a free report with the top 10 tips for …... Or a video series or ecourse on how to .…... Or an audio workshop on the top 10 mistakes with ….. and how to avoid them. Fill in the blank with what makes sense for you and your business.
Your goal with your free gift is to give people a taste of what you have to offer and how you can help them. You want this taste to give them results NOW, something they can take action on to move forward. You want to help them get one step closer to that end result they want, and then lead them into taking the next step with you.
Setup your free gift so it is front and center on your website, the first thing people see. Make it catchy and irresistible with a headline that draws them right in.

3. Put YOU in your website

People want to connect with other people. We all want that personal touch.
Another mistake I see a lot of businesses making with their website is making it just about the company. They put their company name and logo up there, with no mention of who the person behind the business is. I don’t know about you, but I don’t usually buy from a business like this. I click away and never return, because I want to connect with a person, not a business.
YOU are what makes your business unique, and YOU are who your customers want to connect with. So don’t be afraid to put yourself into your website.
Put your name and picture right in the website header, or in another prominent spot on your site where it can be seen on every page - or easily found from any page. Write your About page in the first person using I, me, mine instead of her, she. And make it easy for people to connect with you other places online, whether it’s Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, or anywhere else that you’re hanging out online.
If you have other people on your team who you want to introduce on the website, then by all means do that - just don’t leave yourself out.
Just these three steps can make a huge difference in how irresistible your website is and how effective it is at helping you attract more customers and make more money.
