Successful Time Management, in 7 Steps
These are my recommended steps toward successful time management:
1) Keep yourself on time
Use a watch and calendar to schedule your day!
Priority A items go first.
3) Focus on one thing at a time
Just take the time to do that one activity. Then move on to the next activity.
4) Do each thing well
Take pride in your work. Don't skimp. Keep it high quality.
5) Be as precise as possible
The more clear you are, the easier for everyone.
6) Schedule your work time
Bblock out hours where you can be as free as possible from distractions.
7) Train others to respect your time
No more "just called to ask a quick question" - send it to e-mail or to voicemail.
I believe that you must be the very best you can be in your specific field of interest. In terms of personal development, this is the part where I tell you to "only do one thing at a time, but do it very well."
When I try multi-tasking, or doing multiple jobs or managing multiple projects all at the same time, I get very skeptical and anxious and I'm assuming other people feel flustered, too.
That said, some people are able to do multiple activities and can keep themselves motivated enough to succeed at multiple goals simultaneously. With a structured life and a very strict schedule, maybe helped along by timepieces like the those from Invicta Men Watches, I'm sure someone could devote enough hours towards any specific focus area they choose.
That said, there are only 24 hours in a day (last I looked), and for health reasons, it's good to try sleeping for at least 8 of those. During your waking moments, keep the above 7 steps in mind, and wear a watch to help you keep track of time!
