Starting a new project can be daunting but using project management tools to plan, organize, manage and lead a project can help you meet your goals.
At its heart, project management uses many of the same techniques we use in everyday life when wrestling with a knotty problem. We identify the problem, examine our options, and figure out the best path to take. Then we execute on our decisions and evaluate how well they’ve worked.
Of course in the work place, we have to achieve all of the project’s goals while at the same time living with the constraints, usually time or scope constraints or budget restrictions.
A key to successful project management is to spell out for the whole team the overall project objectives, the timeline, and the roles and responsibilities of the project participants.
There are many tools available to help you with project management from free tools like Google Docs to expensive solution from Microsoft project.
Zoho Projects is online project management software with collaboration and bug tracking that allows teams to collaborate and get work done faster. Planning and Tracking helps you keep the project on schedule. Collaboration helps improve the communication within the team. And the Bug Tracker allows you to track and fix bugs faster. If you only have one project Zoho Projects has a free option. But for larger organizations with multiple projects there are various payment levels.
Don’t jump into your next project without taking the time to plan. Project planning will save you time and money, will help you allocate resources more effectively and will result in higher quality products or solutions.
