Visionboard #1: Be the Change
I'll be going through my different slides in my personal visionboard, and explaining why I've chosen to focus on that particular aspect of my desired reality.
The visionboard is long (111 slides!) so I encourage you to take whatever lessons you learn and apply them to your own growth and personal and professional development.
For 2012-2013 (yes, I know, I tend to live just a little bit in the future -- or at least I focus on where I plan to be), my goal is to Be the Change.
The quote by Gandhi always moves me: "You must be change you wish to see in the world."
How can I bemoan, begrudge, or belittle others when I turn everything around and look at myself in the mirror every morning?
Once I realize that my own beliefs, goals, aspirations, dreams, and ideas begin here at my own desk, in my own little corner of the world, I become more and more aware of the incremental changes I make in my own life and my own consciousness.
I am attempting to "be the change" and to be the role model I myself want, to be the successful woman I myself desire to learn from, and to be the inspiration that I myself am seeking.
Another quote that is in keeping with this part of my visionboard:
It is easier to be a "humanitarian" than to render your own country its proper due; it is easier to be a "patriot" than to make your community a better place to live in; it is easier to be a "civic leader" than to treat your own family with loving understanding; for the smaller the focus of attention, the harder the task.
-Sydney J. Harris
I think we can all focus on our own focus of attention and make the world a better place one moment at a time.
