Zappos.com, the online retailer of shoes, bags and clothing, made headlines recently when the entire company did away with job titles to facilitate a more holistic style of work and management. Zappos made its way on to Amazon’s ledger in 2009 for a cool $1.2 billion, so they must be doing something right.
While that type of equality-centered leadership isn’t likely to take the business world by storm any time soon, it raises some interesting ideas regarding the nature of leadership — especially when being in charge isn’t an assumed part of your job.

For many small-business owners, the idea of business intelligence is something best suited to large companies. Your busy trying to keep your operation running – you have no need for a complex, large-scale intelligence platform that requires extensive knowledge to operate and offers information that’s difficult to scale down to a business of your size and scope.

While many of those visitors are looking for recipes, home decorating and craft ideas, it’s safe to assume that at least some of them are, if not actively looking for employees, in a position to hire new talent for their organizations.
