Being Proactive, not Reactive

Many of us are in constant "reactive" mode rather than in proactive or visionary mode. For example, at your current job, did you just "fall in" to it? or did you actively create it?
In your current house or apartment, was it just available, or did you identify what you wanted and then find it?
In your current relationship, is it just there, or is it something that you co-actively create and maintain over time?
When we sit down, assess, take a deep, deep breath, and really think about what it is we want to create with our lives, we start to understand our priorities and what it is that we want to make manifest with the gift of our lives.
When we have a prioritized list of what it is we want, we can then assess any different options that come up against that list and we can easily strike or drop items that don't match our desires --- and we can better find those unique, heartwarming, inspiring, and life-affirming choices that do match our hopes, dreams, and goals.
In terms of being visionary, consider what it is that you are wanting to accomplish with your life. If you were told you had 3 weeks to live, what would you most regret? What would you definitely do?
Now consider what is holding you back from doing those things.
- Take the course.
- Plant the garden.
- Connect with your friend.
- Forgive someone.
- Call your mother.
- Volunteer at the school.
- Start your book.
- Book your airfare.
