Lessons in Success: #27 Stretch Every Day

Stretching our body every day is an excellent way to keep limber, fit, and healthy. Stretching on a regular basis is a great routine to incorporate into your day, particularly in the morning, right when you wake up.

I'd like you to take five minutes now to stretch out your body.

+ Head

+ Neck

+ Shoulders

+ Torso

+ Arms

+ Hands

+ Fingers

+ Hips

+ Legs

+ Calves

+ Feet

+ Toes

When we stretch, we honor and treasure our bodies. We give thanks for the physical body that helps house our innermost dreams, goals, aspirations, beliefs, and values. We value our physical being.

My dance teacher in high school explained that stretching before anything is similar to heating up water and putting spaghetti noodles into the water. If we just taken a dry spaghetti noodle and break it, it will snap easily. However, if we put the noodle into a warm pot of water and heat it up, it becomes limber and flexible: we can stretch it, swing it around, or twist it and it will retain its shape.

When we stretch out our bodies, we become more physically limber and flexible.

(The same goes for our minds!)

 

Stretch yourself out today. It feels great, and you'll want to do it every day.

 

As you stretch and grow in your body, you'll find other ways to stretch and grow in other aspects of your life. Stretch your understanding through learning more. Stretch your abilities by trying something new. Stretch your  network by meeting more people. Stretch your self-identified limitations by moving beyond your pre-determined constraints.

We all are built to evolve, change, and grow.
