Happy Lunar New Year!

Happy New Year!

February 18th was the Lunar New Year: It’s the Year of the Pig!

Traditionally, this is the most popular of all Chinese holidays, and it is celebrated throughout Asia, including China, Korea, Vietnam, and in Chinese communities in Thailand and the Philippines.

Here are some ways to incorporate the celebration into your week:

1) Send an e-card or a congratulatory e-mail to your Asian Pacific Islander friends

2) Go out for Chinese food and celebrate with noodles (long life), fish (prosperity), and dumplings (luck).

3) Prepare a few envelopes with different amounts of cash in them (even number increments) and spread them around to your unmarried single friends and the children in your life.

4) Find a cultural event, parade, or other Lunar New Year activity in your area and go!

Happy new year!
