Vetrazzo on Delightful Wonderful Things: What I’ve Hand-picked for you

I stumbled upon the Vetrazzo site when looking for ecologically friendly materials for decoration.

You’re sure to love this recycled glass solution. Vetrazzo® (the product) was first invented in 1996 in Berkeley, California by a glass scientist, who had the idea to repurpose glass into a building material. He worked with a Bay Area architect to produce Vetrazzo in small batches for local builders.

The material was so eye-catching and so pleasing that “word got around” and soon orders were arriving from hotels like the Ritz Carlton in South Beach, Miami. In October 2006, the product, with a new management team and financing, started operating as Vetrazzo, LLC, and they opened a manufacturing plant in a recycled Ford auto plant in Richmond, California.

Take a look at the beautiful colors and if you buy, feel proud that you’re recycling a versatile, colorful, and durable material. If you are a supplier, consider becoming a distributor for Vetrazzo: they are seeking showrooms in all fifty states.

The Vetrazzo® glass is totally, 100% recycled and comes from sources like decommissioned traffic lights, windshields, used bottles, and plate glass windows.

The material provides new markets for glass that may not be recycled elsewhere. Vetrazzo is made in the United States and all the source material is from the United States. Workers are also paid a fair living wage, so no labor is exploited in creating your decorative and functional pieces.
