Bio

I am a “childfree by choice” woman who enjoys living life on my own terms, and I consider myself a calculated risk-taker. After just one visit to Nicaragua, my husband and I decided to pack up our clothes and laptops and head to the tropics to start a new life. While my husband finishes building our home made out of recycled shipping containers, I telecommute for a consulting firm based in Washington, DC. I’m proof that you can take elements of a conventional US life/work style and also live outside the box. One of my goals is to motivate women to live their dreams, even if they do not conform to what everyone else is doing.

My professional background is in financial planning/analysis and consulting. I have a Bachelor’s Degree in Mathematics from the University of Virginia, an MBA from Duke University, and over 15 years of work experience in both the private and public sectors. In addition to my telecommuting consulting gig, I am also starting an entrepreneurial venture that I am very excited about.

My Goal for the Year

My main goal for the year is to get my new business venture ready for launch. I also want to finish up some projects on our eco-friendly shipping container home, such as completing the retaining wall made out of used tires. Finally, I want to connect with and learn from other success-oriented women.

Something you're proud to have achieved

I recently rescued four cats and kittens and gave them a loving home.
